The Behemoth is a Khadoran warjack standing over five metres high and carrying the most sophisticated weapons available to the Motherland. The incredible effort and determination put into this unique machine make it the mechanikal embodiment of Khador: immense, fantastically powerful, unyielding, awe inspiring, and nearly indestructible. This peerless warjack is as much a symbol to the Khadoran people of their power as it is a force of destruction to any who would stand against it.

History

The Behemoth was first conceived in 596 AR as the ultimate Khadoran warjack. Master Mechanik Dahlrif Salvoro, a member of the Mekaniburo of the Khadoran Mechaniks Assembly, designed the Behemoth as an experiment to showcase Khadoran military mechanika. Due to the staggering costs, the Behemoth was designated as unfeasible and the project was suspended only weeks after it had begun.[1]

The incomplete chassis and plans were abandoned and gathered dust until discovered by Great Vizier Simonyev Blaustavya in 602 AR. He instantly recognised the potential of the Behemoth and vehemently insisted the Mechaniks Assembly resume construction. Declaring the Motherland 'would never be chained by coins', he contributed a massive amount of money and organised a secret and massive fundraising effort among the kayazy, describing the Behemoth as a gift to the crown and their nation. Though they had already invested heavily in industrialisation at Blaustavya’s insistence, the kayazy saw this as the ultimate expression of their loyalty and gave generously to show their pride and belief in the restored Khardic Empire. Salvoro, pleasantly surprised to have his pet project suddenly endorsed, immediately resumed its construction.[1][2]

The Behemoth is first introduced to the Khadoran people in 606 AR, during the coronation of Empress Ayn Vanar XI, who watches along with tens of thousands of citizens packing the streets of Korsk as the military might of Khador marches past them. At a break in the parade, Simonyev Blaustavya presents the Behemoth as a gift from the kayazy to their new Empress. As the Behemoth rounds the corner into view, a deafening roar heard for miles rises from the crowd.[2]

Since its commission, the Behemoth has been in the thick of some of the Motherland’s most crucial battles, including the battle at the Orgoth Temple Garrodh, the fall of Northguard, and the final push against the Cryxian necrofactorium under the Thornwood.[1][2][3]

Properties

Hailed as the ultimate Khadoran warjack, the Behemoth exemplifies the best qualities of Khadoran design: extremely heavy armour, a devastating array of weaponry, and immense strength. The Mechaniks Assembly created a complex system of internal shielding and mechanikal redundancy that when combined with its thick plates allows the Behemoth to absorb damage that would reduce a lesser warjack to scrap. Shaped blasting charges positioned above each massive fist allow the ‘jack to blow apart armoured opponents and literally disintegrate softer targets. Each shoulder houses an integral bombard masterfully slaved to a sub-cortex, devoted to firing the guns independently of the Behemoth’s other systems, giving the machine total control over its fire. Beyond these weapons, the Behemoth’s raw strength allows it to toss even the heaviest ‘jacks aside like playthings. [1]
